MOOC Curriculum and Frame

"If you want to change the world, you have to change the metaphor"
Joseph Campbell

Framework of the MOOC “Connecting Circles – Living Waters of Our Rivers” is based on understanding of inner narrative, use of stories and metaphors in counseling. Team gathered in this Erasmus + project choose to use metaphor “story healers” in order to emphasize healing power of the stories.

We have, each of us, a life-story, an inner narrative — whose continuity, whose sense, is our lives. It might be said that each of us constructs and lives, a “narrative,” and that this narrative is us, our identities.

Each of us is a singular narrative, which is constructed, continually, unconsciously, by, through, and in us — through our perceptions, our feelings, our thoughts, our actions; and, not least, our discourse, our spoken narrations.

In finding our own story, we assemble all the parts of ourselves. We can own what we did and value who we are, not because of the outcome but because of the soul story that propelled us.

Story healers are searching within  tales and myths, a metaphor that uses water / river / ocean / sea / stream/ as a transformative force. We named them the “Waters of Life and Waters of Death”. Life – Death is a force that enables a transformational moment in stories/ tales; and is often depicted with water metaphors.

Story healers  use stories and fairy tales that include river metaphor  to enable cognition/comprehension  in humans, so that they can unlock the original information about ourselves that is stored in the unconscious.
